Moldex Bitrex Sensitivity Solution Pack of 6

The Bitrex ampoules should be used prior to the use of the Moldex Bitrex Fit Test kit. A pack of 6 ampoules with each 2.5ml ampoules providing enough solution for 3 tests.

Bitrex creates an unmistakable bitter taste that indicates break through in the respirator fit. Disposable glass ampoules make pouring solution into nebulizers easier and reduces the chance of contamination. Bitrex is a non-toxic neutral substance which is used in this type of testing for its strong bitter taste that is easily detectable. Drinking water after the test will quickly remove the taste.

Before the test it is important that you have not eaten or drunk anything or smoked for 15 minutes before testing. Using a nebulizer, this test is to monitor a persons sensitivity to the Bitrex taste to ensure they are suitable for fit testing. If the subject is unable to taste the Bitrex, they cannot be tested with the Bitrex Test Kit.
